Do I have to buy my tickets in advance? Can I pay by cash or cheque?

Tickets are only for sale in advance and it’s easy thanks to the EZtix kiosk on this website.

Buying tickets in advance means you are 100% guaranteeing your spots on our tour.

You can pay by Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. We do not accept cash or cheques. You can also call EZtix at 1.800.656.0713.

Can I get a refund or reschedule?

We would ask that you think of your tickets as you would a theatre, sporting event or concert. When you purchase your ticket, you are purchasing a guarenteed spot on the tour.

If something happens and you are not able to attend, please find someone who can come in your place. There are no partial credits for partial attendance or late arrivals.

If a tour gets cancelled can I get a refund?

It would be rare for us to cancel a tour. We run our tours through typical Vancouver Island weather. If we do cancel a tour for whatever reason you will get a 100% refund.

Do you have a wait list if a tour is sold out?

No, we do not have a wait list, as it is such a rarity that someone would cancel. We do hope you can find a date that will work for you while you are in Tofino. Because of the limited amount of tickets per day, we recommend you book in advance.

What is included in the price of the tour?

The price includes food, beverage tastings and taxes.

Gratuities for your tour leader are not included or compulsory, however, our tour guide would be grateful for your tips.

Tipping Advice: The industry standard is 15 – 20% of the cost of the tour.

Is there a discount for seniors?

No, sorry, there is no discount for seniors. The amount of food prepared is the same for all adults and the ticket price pays for the salary of your tour guide.

Is there a minimum or maximum age?

Because there is alcohol served on the tour, guests must be 19+ years of age. If you look 30 or younger, we may ask you for two pieces of identification.

The tour is 2 ½ – 3 hours long and involves a lot of walking and standing. There are at least two opportunities to sit and rest thoughout the tour.

The distance we walk is typically around 1.5 to 2km and does include some steep hills.

We trust the wisdom of our elderly customers in choosing to purchase a ticket and welcome them if they choose to join us.

Mothers nursing babies are welcome however strollers would take up too much room in some of the smaller vendors we visit and therefore, are not allowed on the tour.

What if I have special dietary concerns or allergies? Is a food tour still a good idea for me?

Due to the incredibly busy nature of our vendors during the peak season, we can not make arrangements for gluten-free, vegans, vegetarians and food allergies.

If you have severe food allergies to seafood, nuts, wheat, or dairy, a food tour may not be the best idea for you and we ask that you take responsibility for protecting yourself at all times.

How much food will I eat on the tour?

The tastings on a tour definitely add up to a meal and we hope you will leave feeling very satisfied.

We’ll be visiting Tofino’s finest food businesses and vendors that specialize in handmade, locally sourced and high-quality food.

You will receive 6 tastings and a full dessert portion. Some vendors provide a demonstration on the tour and/or a sample for you to take home and enjoy later.

How much will I drink on the tour?

There will be tastings of various beverages on the tour – usually coffee, local craft beers, sparkling wine, ciders, and water. If you tend to be thirsty, please bring a refillable bottle of water with you.

Will I be able to shop on the tour?

Please think of the tour as a fun & delicious introduction to visit with various food vendors.

There will be one location where you can spend 15-20 minutes shopping and/or looking local art work. We are on a tight timeline so any other shopping will have to be done during your own time.

What should I wear on the tour?

We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and if there is any chance of rain in the forecast bring along a rain jacket. The tour goes during any weather conditions so please dress accordingly for your own comfort. If it is a warm day, you must wear shoes and a shirt as we are going into restaurants that have health regulations.

Where and when do I meet my tour leader?

You will meet with your tour guide in front of Rhino Coffee House at 465 Campbell St.

Please arrive ten to fifteen minutes before the start of the tour so that we may start on time. The tour will leave at the scheduled time. Due to the limited amounts of parking in Tofino, it’s best to arrive well in advance of the tour to assure you can find a parking space before meeting with your guide.

How many people are usually on the tours?

Depending on the tour, the maximum number of guests is ten adults.

Are the tours wheelchair accessible?

Most but not all of the venues are wheelchair accessible. We will be covering 1.5-2km throughout the tour which also includes some steep hills. Please use your own discretion in regards to this manner.

Can I bring my camera?

Absolutely! Throughout the tour, you’re going to be constantly surrounded by the picturesque surroundings of Clayoquot Sound which you will definitely want to capture. We also love social media and will retweet, share and like your photos, too.

Are washrooms available on the tour?

There will be at least one to two opportunities for washroom breaks throughout your tour.

Your tour leader will always point out these opportunities as the tour progresses.

Are gift certificates available? Do they expire?

Yes, Tofino Food Tours offers gift certificates. A gift card for a food tour is the perfect gift for any occasion and will surely be highly appreciated.

Where can I park?

Parking is limited in the town of Tofino. It can be extremely difficult to secure a spot during the busy summer season. We would recommend you walk into town, ride a bicycle, or be dropped off. If you do need to park, these are the suggestions from the Town of Tofino… “There is a paid parking lot on 3rd & Main. $3 for 12 hours. There is also free but limited parking at the Tofino Community Hall on Arnet Road.”
