The Tofino Food Tour is a 2.5-3 hour journey through the picturesque town of Tofino. During the tour, you’ll have the experience of tasting some incredibly delicious food from some of Tofino’s most popular restaurants & food vendors. If you love seafood, you’re going to love this tour. You’ll be tasting all sorts of wonderful dishes featuring seafood caught right here in Clayoquot Sound. You’ll also taste local craft beer, freshly made doughnuts, delectable meats, cheeses, jellies & jams and a lot more.
When you’re not eating, we’ll also stuff your head full of all sorts of knowledge about Tofino as you walk throughout the town. You’ll learn about a haunted restaurant, celebrities that love Tofino, the rich history of the town and more. In addition to that, you’ll also be able to visit a native art gallery where you can do some shopping while learning about Tofino’s First Nations history.

Coffee is always a great way to start your day, so why not start your tour with some of the best coffee in Tofino? As the tour starts, you’ll enter the eclectic Rhino Coffee House where you’ll get to sample their freshly brewed coffee. Not only will you get to perk up with some coffee, you’re going to get to try a sample of one their signature doughnuts which are freshly made in-store each and every day.
Your next food tasting location just happens to be haunted. The Schooner Restaurant is Tofino’s oldest restaurant dating back to the 1960’s when it was first opened by the Bruce family. To this day, the Bruce family continues to run this beautiful restaurant where you’ll get to sample their special chowder combined with a taste of one type of brew from the Tofino Brewing Company. You might also be joined during your tasting by Schooner’s resident ghost Morris who just may want to say, “Hi!”
After leaving Tofino’s oldest restaurant, we will take you around the corner to sample food from one of Tofino’s newest restaurants – Lil’ Ronnie’s Backyard BBQ. Here you will get to sample various meats from Lil’ Ronnie’s ever-changing tasty menu. On any given day you might sample a mixture of brisket, ribs, pork belly, sausage, turkey, chicken and whatever other treats Ronnie has on the BBQ that day.

At the corner of Main and First Street, you’ll come to one of the most fantastic spots in Tofino. Not only are the views of Clayoquot Sound incredible from the First Street dock, but it’s also where you’ll enter the Dockside Smoked Fish Store. Here you’ll get to taste locally caught salmon that has been smoked and flavoured in a few different tasty varieties. Trust us, after you try a couple of bites, you’ll be hooked and wanting more.
After your tasting, you’ll also have an opportunity to walk around the House of Himwitsa native art gallery and store allowing you to look at and purchase stunning native artwork.
As the tour winds down, you’ll find yourself at a true Tofino gem that will have you wanting return again and again. The Ice House Oyster Bar offers an uninterrupted view of Clayoquot Sound in a historic warehouse that is still an operational ice facility for local fisherman.
Here you’re going to get a real treat – a full-sized serving of their special Umami Tsunami Oyster combined with a glass of crisp sparkling apple cider. During your tasting, the views of Clayoquot Sound will have you wanting to park yourself at the Ice House Oyster Bar for the remainder of the day. It’s truly a magical place.
Goodbyes don’t always have to be sad. As the tour wraps up and we say our goodbyes, you’ll be given a voucher for a heavenly scoop of gelato from Chocolate Tofino. You can pop into Chocolate Tofino at your convenience and enjoy this delicious treat that will surely put a smile on your face.
